In Memory of James Biggica
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of James Biggica, founder of Warrior Martial Art Supply. James was the kind of craftsman you just don't come across often — someone who saw a problem, figured it out, and built something better.
He developed the nine-board laminating process that solved the dummy cracking issues that had plagued the industry for years. He invented the modern free-standing dummy mount, a design now copied worldwide. He created training tools like the Recoil Reaction stand and the Rice Bag Trainer that changed the way people train Wing Chun on their own. His dummies have appeared on screen in Sherlock Holmes, Supergirl, Daredevil, and the Man Cave, among others.
James cared deeply about the Wing Chun community. He expressed that gratitude openly and often. He loved the people he was serving, and by all accounts, they loved him back. From the trade shows to the celebrity custom orders to the custom engraved dummies that are as much art as they are training tools — everything he did was rooted in a genuine love for the craft and the community it served.
James learned his woodworking from his father and his artistic eye from his mother, and he turned both of those gifts into something that outlasts him. His legacy will live on in every dummy and training device he put his hands to — they will continue to be used, trained on, and appreciated for years to come. "Train Hard" is how he signed every email, and training hard on the equipment he made is the best way to honor him.
We worked alongside James for 13 years, and in that time his work ethic, integrity, and care for his customers never wavered. He was an irreplaceable partner, and he will be sorely missed.
